Install

Cockpit is included in Ubuntu 17.04 and later, and available as an official backport for 16.04 LTS and later.
We recommend installing or updating the latest version from backports. This repository is enabled by default, but if you customized apt sources you might need to enable them manually.

sudo apt install -t ${VERSION_CODENAME}-backports cockpit

On Ubuntu, you simply install cockpit with the following command.
sudo apt install cockpit
It will install a bunch of different tools, and once the installation is completed, you can simply access the web GUI on port 9090. You can use any administrative Linux user that is existing on the system to log in.
